awww... I think it's sad. I think that it was lovely that there was a basement department (cue X-files theme song) of Princeton doing ESP (etc.) research, and that we are a slightly poorer world for not having something so "out there" out there.

I do actually believe there are probably realms that hard science hasn't begun to acknowledge or explore... though, what, exactly, they comprise is something I have no particular opinion about. I'd rather leave it to the scientists... but they aren't ready to go there, or at least admit to it publicly. I won't live long enough to see that change, but I bet it will.

I think this is a reflection of the world we live in - there is so much shit going on that we simply don't have the energy to process things that are outside the day-to-day requirements of just getting by. This is a bad thing - the unexamined life not being worth living and all that shite.
