I'm torn. My mother used to run our county's juvenile restitution program, and if kids skipped out, they could be arrested as a last resort. But if they reached 18, they were basically free and clear (according to Wisconsin law).
But refusing her meds -- that had been given her by the rape crisis center! -- is unconscionable. In fact, it could potentially make the county liable for child support.
I am so freakin' sick of stories like this. When your religion prevents you from doing your job--especially in a way that harms someone else--you either have to get a new job or a new religion.
I have attempted three separate comments and they have all been blasphemous to an extent that leaves even me a bit uncomfortable. We'll leave it at "I disapprove strongly."
The nurse has been placed on administrative leave. The nurse claims, along with everyone else involved, that they were just following orders. Maybe we should start a Just Following Orders Award and nominate them for it.
