Emcee Squared: The first square is done and posted! [More:] (If you missed the info about how we are making these, have a look here.)
Whoa! That's a whole new level of emcee!

Wow. It worked well.

There's a secret surprise for iconomy in mine.
posted by taz 29 January | 14:48
Very cool!
posted by gaspode 29 January | 14:51
Haha....whoa I didn't even notice that until you pointed it out! I love it. The Abe Lincoln plate....hahahaha...

How cool is this? And cortex, you did the roots into eyeballs thing with your digital pen? That's my single favorite thing on the emcee - roots into eyeballs. The whole thing looks fantastic. I love the starkness and boldness and whitespace and bunnieness of it all.
posted by iconomy 29 January | 14:55
Nice! I was wrong--it's probably better without trying to impose an overall scheme on it.
posted by shane 29 January | 14:58
Wow! Nice!

Wow, that's awesome. I can't wait to see the completed Emcee Squared Set Two.
posted by muddgirl 29 January | 15:31
Oh my goodness, it's fantastic. It's busy and cohesive. It's happy, it's sad. Bunnies and flowers and music and is that elephant farting?
posted by auntbunny 29 January | 15:35
I can. They should have posted the "remedial class" results first.....!
posted by Doohickie 29 January | 15:36
But Do, the nice thing about being remedial is that no one expects much of us. :)

The more I look at it, the more I love it.
posted by iconomy 29 January | 15:44
You guys are awesome. I commend you!

I am going to frantically rummage for my Photoshop software when I get home... and maybe go buy a drawing pad and pen thing for my laptop. I'm jealous - which means you all did a really good job!
posted by youngergirl44 29 January | 16:52
Woo! So cool.

And yeah, iconomy, I had fun figuring out what to do with that. The eyes in MGL's frame were just too compelling not to riff of off, and I wanted the flowers to go somewhere too. Voila! Tablets are fun.
posted by cortex 29 January | 17:14
(And tablets are also shockingly affordable. I think the one I'm using—4x5 Wacom Graphire—retails at about $100. Though I'm already lusting after a bigger'n.)
posted by cortex 29 January | 17:16
oops - I made a mistake in the text due to working from an old grid of names... mgl had to drop out of this one; the one on top of yours is by freudianslipper!

Sorry! I'll go fix that.
posted by taz 29 January | 17:48
Very well done! I'm not worthy to look at it.
posted by PlanetKyoto 29 January | 18:20
I love it!!!

Wow, that was fun... I could never imagined how crazy/cool it would look when it was done.

I love how the more you study it, the more you see elements that are echoes of another part of the pic. Fantastic.

This is great! I love the multiple flows. Very cool.
posted by safetyfork 29 January | 19:08
Totally awesome! With all the 'photoslopping' I've been doing lately, I should be participating! Where do I sign up for round 3? Yes, I'll accept a corner...
posted by wendell 29 January | 19:47
Oh man. Those are/that is so good!
