As a Rhode Islander, I must agree with my fellow New Englander: R's are a bad idea.
Unless, of course, you add them into words like "idea" or "soda" (idear, soder).
We don't signal when we're turning (well, I do) or changing lanes... in fact we've been reported as being the worst drivers in the country.
We also flatly reject driving the speed limit, signalling when turning,
LT, you are of course talking about southern Maine, which everyone knows is just an outpost of Boston. ;-)
Mainers can be a contrary bunch. After the writer Stephen King was badly injured while walking on the side of the road by a guy who was distracted by his dog moving around in his van just before impact, some Mainers were actually pissed off at Stephen King because they felt he was using his celebrity to whip up the public backlash against the guy.
