Suggestion for Photo Friday tomorrow: Since we scanned things last week, how about drawing something in Paint or whatever for tomorrow?
bleh. I know there are lots of great artists here and i'm sure it'll be a popular theme but i can't draw for beans and especially nothing i'd bother uploading.
Horizons. Let's all take pictures of horizons we can see everyday, perhaps even ones we'd walk or drive locally to see, if we work in high rises, or live around notable geographic features.
Can I just say that I love how laid back and artsy this place is, especially compared to MetaFilter?

Ok. Paint theme. Um. I can only think of super vague things like "adventure!" and similar Poster-esque abstract concepts (y'know, the inspirational posters?).
But does it have to be in MS Paint? Could we include other forms of crude drawing? I'm only around a computer on my breaks, but I've got access to crayons and paper at work, I could make a totally badass little kid type drawing, most likely.
Sure - crayons, markers, pencil, ball point pen, drawing programs... whatever. I just don't have a scanner so hand drawings are not that easy to post - and they'd be less entertaining than my computer drawings. I can actually draw decently by hand.
We have so many new members that soon we HAVE to do another Myspace Face Photo Friday, or something along those lines. How about Smoking Gun face - like, what our mug shots would look like? Now I know that we're such a fine upstanding group of citizens that none of us have any idea of what posing for a mug shot even entails, but we could wing it. Or whatever, just something like that. It was so fun.

I assume mugshots look like your drivers license photo or other ID's, depending on your mood at the time, whether or not you smile, and how heinous the crime you committed is.
Iconomy: Yep, I can imagine all of those as drivers licenses, Library Card photos, etc. Well, maybe not all of them.
I guess the requirements would be standing in front of a cinderblock wall (or something equally boring), perhaps with a sign or something. I like the idea!
And I'm turning 19 this April. :/
Mudpuppie: I am saying that I am too young by comparison! This is a complaint! You guys aren't old, you're... experienced! Mature! Not likely to be asked for ID!
I fear my opinions will not be taken seriously because I am a dumb teenager, instead of because they are independently ridiculous regardless of my age.
Or something like that.
I look at all the MeFi/MeCha meetup pictures and I think "Dang. Nobody here is under 20. I need to age two years. Fast."
Your age has nothing to do with whether or not we take your opinions seriously. I'm old enough to be your mom so I will personally defend you (by wrestling in jello) anyone who dares belittle your opinion on anything because you're only 18. Strawberry jello! With banana slices in it!
Cortex: As someone who is over twenty/under thirty (yes?), then chronologically speaking, yes, you are "mature". Psychologically speaking, I can't vouch for you either way, as I really have no idea.

I hope you all realize my use of the word "mature" was meant to be as tongue-in-cheek as these responses ;)
Oh and if someone could fill the newbie in on Photo Fridays, that'd be nice. Do we just decide on a theme by general concensus? Is someone appointed to choose? Etc
Thank you, all, for the terrible suggestions. I think we can safely eliminate them, creative though they may be.
But keep them in mind for next Friday!!
