My track update on the radio page stopped for awhile when my browser crashed, but all is working now, I think...
Oh I see. Thats a good excuse for taking an hour, then. My mistake, I thought-
Oh my.
HARRY CHAPIN! 30K lbs of Bananas! You're my hero.
I forget what I was going to say now.
A little weird sidetrack here as I play David Allen Coe's 'ultimate country song' "You Never Even Called Me By My Name" followed by Harry Chapin's 'ultimate country song' "30,000 Pounds of Bananas" (long live version) and THEN the Weird Al song based on Chapin's "Bananas", "The Biggest Roll of Twine in Minnesota"... I've never played these three in order for myself yet, so this is 100% self-indulgence...
I noticed another correlation between Coe and Chapin's song, the fact that they poke fun at country songs because they both mention that you need to include your mother and a truck. Strange!
Of course both singers mentioned mothers and trucks; the Ultimate Country Song MUST have both mothers and trucks; Chapin messed up by not also including drinking, which would've helped explain the truck driver's fateful error.
I may replay these goodies in a future broadcast... not the next time, which could be at any time. I do enjoy doing the radio thing, but it brings out my obsessive/compulsive/perfectionist/neurotic side. I am still only 1/4 done organizing my audio collections (which I'd promised myself I wouldn't do another radio show until I had done... well, there goes another Resolution).
Anyway, more Wadio Wendell this Weekend, if this cold-and-or-flu I've gotten doesn't kill me first.
