Thankyou for the warm welcome, Richat, Lipstick thespian and others! [More:]I’m glad you didn’t kill anyone greaycap;)

My favourite books are usually the ones that I identify with most, like everyone else I’m assuming. I love This Boy’s Life, Angela’s Ashes/Tis and To Kill A Mockingbird too. I’m not a very well read person in the sense that I don’t know too much about books other than the ones that are quite famous I suppose, and even those have to be ones that I’ve seen on film before (I’m a bit of a cinema snob), so I guess the question should’ve been which film is your favourite (On the Waterfront), huh, Alicesshoe;)

But I do like the way everyone converses here, and on Meta, and I think a lot of that has to do with how well-read everyone is. It’s nice to know that there are people out there who are as cultivated as you:)
That’s cool that you liked the Winnie the Pooh books arse_hat. I remember loving his cartoons as a kid (Tiger was the best) and I’m just curious but what character did you identify with most??

I tried reading Atlas Shrugged when I was on a train journey from Hyderabad to Delhi when I was… oh, 20 I think, and loved it in the beginning—I was captivated with Dagny’s character (I can’t resist a woman who knows what she wants and goes out and gets it), but then I skipped ahead a little bit and after reading the part where she Executes? that policeman or guard, I felyt really bad for him and I didn’t feel like reading it anymore.
But it’s cool if others liked it, or like Ayn Rand’s stuff. Apples and Oranges, right.:)

Wilder, thanks for the feedback—it’s always good to know what others are thinking when you have no idea of finding out, unless they favourite it or something.
I didn’t understand what you were saying about your friend from Peshawar and you tearing your hair out—I don’t read the answers of the questions that I’m going to answer on Ask Me, lest I get disheartened about writing down the same answer as someoen else, so I have no idea what was going on, other than that post Ynoxas (sp) made and left, so I’m not sure what it was. Would you mind clarifying… thank you!
Yeeesh! Man, is this a long post… sorry about that, and please excuse me if I’ve made any spelling mistakes:)
hadjiboy, I was an only child and most of the kids in our neighborhood were a bit older than me so Christopher Robin's adventures in the hundred acre wood with the menagerie rang true for me. Building your own world as needed.

I was going to say hello but I was a little put off by another person with a username beginning with an "h". I think I'm over it now, though. (the "i" and the "b", well, just give me some time).
So welcome! I whuffle Specklet in your honor.

hadjiboy, off the top of my head, I'd say my favourite movie would be Les Vacances de Mr. Hulot. Mr. Hulot's Holiday. It doesn't have one word spoken, per se, although not a silent film. A physical comedy, directed and starringf Jacques Tati, which Mr. Bean borrowed from. It has a soundtrack, probably one tune.

Loved Fellini's Nights of Cabiria. One word, Giulietta Masi ]Fellini's wife[.
and Fellini's La Strada. Starring a v. young Anthony Quinn.

Moving out of the 50's, I'd need to think about that.

HadjiGoodjujuboy -

I just saw All About Eve for the first time last night, with Bette Davis, and it was phenomenal. Definitely see anything with Bette Davis innit.

(oh and hey, Rainbaby et al? I know, I know, I'm just NOW GETTING AROUND TO BETTE DAVIS movies. Sue me.)

And so begins the good natured teasing and such. Welcome! Coffee and doughnuts on your left, fruit and veggies on the right, misspellings ignored. Also, double posts are not ridiculed here. We're a great bunch!
