Mini-horse! OMG! Oh, teh equine cuteness.
Holy moly. Are they supposed to be that small, or is that a one-off?

Host site your and make money.

chrismear, I believe it is a dwarf of a miniature breed. If it is the same one I saw last year, it is one hand high (40") and needs leg braces.

The question is, why were miniature horses bred in the first place? Was it, as the zoophilics like to suggest, in order to screw them?

I thought miniature horses were bred for pulling carts inside mines.

They are sometimes used as service animals. Very very cute service animals. I know this doesn't answer the breeding question, but OMG the cuteness and helpfulness.

They're bred that way on purpose, chrismear. It was quite popular to own one in the ..um.. '80s, I think. It was around the same time pot-bellied pigs were popular.
