Oh, that's what it does. Firefox 2's search engine box has a little down-facing arrow that sometimes glows. And now I know what the glowing means.
Firefox is fully of dirty dirty secrets. I only go into it for web development, though, not day-to-day browsing, so I don't run into half of this stuff.
Built-in Wikipedia search is pretty awesome, though.
Yet another reason I need to get off me arse and download 2.0. One of my favourite features is the multiple search engines built into the browser and that'll make it that much nicer.
On the Mac we just seem to get a blue background as opposed to any glowiness. Deborah - there's a nice search engine manager in FF2 now, so if you were running an extension for those before, then you no longer need to.
I've pretty much weaned myself of Safari recently - it had slightly too many annoying features. Still, all bets are off for my affections when Leopard comes out with a new version in.
