Movies from the library--which one should I watch tonight? Alphabetically: C.S.A.? Collateral? Freedomland? An Inconvenient Truth? Treasure of the Sierra Madre?[More:]
They've all got pros and cons, the way I see it. There's the one with that guy I hate, the one that I've already seen a million times, the one that can't possibly live up to the book, ah, you know how it is. Any suggestions?
Treasure Of The Sierra Madre. You can't really go wrong with Bogie.

I vote Treasure of the Sierra Madre or C.S.A.

Freedomland - definitely NOT!

Dang, no love for the Richard Price adaptation--not even from jonmc.

Treasure is one of the best movies ever made, but I've seen it quite a few times. Then again, this is a new transfer.

I haven't seen it yet, box, so I couldn't judge it.

Treasure Of The Sierra Madre! They showed it at Screen on the Green, and we made t-shirts! Best inadvertantly dirty line: "Can't you see the old man's nuts?"

I haven't read the novel Freedomland.

The story is compelling and that's why I saw this movie, but it's not well done. Certain scenes don't make any sense. Certain characters do things that are unbelievable and leave you asking, What? throughout the movie. I love the cast-Julianne Moore, Samuel L. Jackson, Edie Falco - but it sucked. The book is probably better.

Another vote for Sierra Madre. (Mainly because it's the only one on the list I've seen.)

Yeah, me too.

I watched CSA a few weeks ago. It was entertaining and worth the time, but I probably wouldn't watch it a second time.

Treasure of the Sierra Madre. . .I would watch it anywhere, any time, both for that quote in it and for the fact that it's just a great movie.
