anyone remember a song from the late 70s or early 80s ... it was long and more talking than singing, but the chorus had something about "floaing down that lazy river" in it. it was somewhat erie and the storyline was set in New Orleans I think. Got it in my head but cant remember enough of it to look it up.
cousin!

I think it is a CCR song. Proud Mary?

You're most welcome, stoicsquirrel. Of course, I hold you responsible for that song now being stuck in my head. So, you're welcome and also damn you! Damn you to heck!

To echo a popular sentiment, OMG!

My college roomate had that cd, and that was the one song I liked. I found the cd in a thrift store a few years ago, listened to it, and thought that was the worst song on there - I emailed her to tell her she was right all along. . .and did she want the CD.

She didn't; I threw it away.

It is quite the suck in you head song.

(It wasn't the late seventies/early eighties, it was the late eighties/early ninties, but I don't know when it was recorded)
