Help me name my professional site! I need to set up a writing portfolio site. I'd like to keep it separate from my current webstuff so I plan to register a new domain.[More:]

I've got a few options:

firstnamelastname.tld (but I'm not a huge fan of my last name, and it's pretty long and unmemorable.)

firstnamemiddlename.tld (not so bad, but I don't typically use my middle name for anything, I just prefer it to my last name.)

somerandomwritingrelatedword.tld (like inkpen.com or something. I lean toward this but I can't come up with anything good.)

I use a couple of aliases in writing online that I have a fondness for, but probably I should keep them separate from my professional stuff.

Please advise! Thank you!
Oy, I think I posted wrong.

I vote for making up a completely new word that has no Google results yet.

I vote for moreinside.com ;)

I know, I broke the Internet, I'm sorry.

Completely new word... geshploink.com? Maybe...

like inkpen.com

Is there a short phrase or neologism in one your pieces that you'd like to showcase on your site? You could build the name around that and highlight an excerpt of that piece on the homepage.

What byline do you publish under?

Whether you like your name or not, if it's your own business, I'd vote for using whatever your byline is. As far as author and musician sites go, it's the simplest, clearest, most memorable thing to do. Your clients don't have to remember two things about you; just your name.

Hmm. Typically it's my first name + last name, though for sex-related stuff I've used an alias.

It does make sense when you put it that way, Miko.

Dano, I have written some clever turns-of-phrase, if I do say so myself, so maybe I'll comb some old stuff and see what's what.

Thanks for this -- it's very helpful!

Puns may be good. And writing related puns may be even better.

If it were me, I'd love to own "emptyvessels.com"
Unfortunately, it's gone.

immovablefeast.com is available, and if I were a writer I would buy that.

Somebody is definitely not immovable. Fast work! I didn't know you could register a domain that quickly.

I would go for "loiseaurebelle" or whatever the line from Carmen is.

so you're a writer, but you can't be bothered to come up with your own name? come on...

SHUT UP! SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP!

It's not that I can't be bothered -- it's just hard to brainstorm all by yourself. In your housecoat. Eating bonbons. Sobbing quietly.

Whoever put me in a [more inside], thank you!
