Moonlight in the Garden of Sacrificial Possums? →[More:] So, let's just go ahead and assume this apparent confluence isn't a product of sated blood hunger in the old gods, mmkay? And also, just for the sake of argument, let's further assume that it isn't a case of either plain coincidence or confirmation bias... Now, what's your theory?

Also, have any of our local garden wizards (and we do have quite a few) experienced any interesting unexplained botanical phenomena?

If the plants' "extra-healthy" cycle is just a normal botanical cycle, maybe that's causing the roadkill increase because animals are attuned to the plants and know when's the best time to go out and do some extra-vigorous foraging. So, they're more active, and more likely to be hit by cars.

(I hope weretable weighs in on this.)

(I have a bad history with possums. Hit three one summer. Course, my father did have a bumper tomato crop that year.)

I think he washed over the moon's influence too quickly. I'm sticking with it.

But since it seems we've alredy dismissed it, I'm just going to go out on a limb and say it's the natural order of things. Possums are a menace to gardeners and gardens. Plants aren't stupid. The marked growth is just pure jubilation.
