It is a good find, sure. I've got it on my iPod at the moment. But it is mighty odd, as Dylan was trying on a very different voice for these recordings. Quite high and almost yodelly. In the end, it comes off as mostly a curiosity that makes me wish that the two of them would've worked together at a later date. Obviously, they admired each other very much and got along like long-time friends, so an American Recordings era session would've been just this side of divine.

I like it very much, with all the stumbling and fumbling and false starts. For some reason the version of "Careless Love" on this has always stuck with me.*

In a streak of very odd coincidence I happen to have a triptych of photographs from a year before those sessions of Dylan and Cash, hanging near me at work. Cash is signing an autograph for Dylan. We acquired it in an odd way, the story of which I can tell only in person.
