You should definitely go! NYC has an Eat Club that I've been to a few times. 'Tis fun to break out of the ole rut once in awhile.

They're just getting to the letter I right now, so there's a run of Japanese restaurants coming up (anything starting with "Ichi-" means "number one" or "first"), followed by Italian (pretty much anything starting with "Il") followed by a lot of Indian ("India" this or that). I wonder if every letter of the alphabet features distinctive runs like that or if I is a standout in that respect.

I first heard about these guys when they were written up in the Star a few years back, and I remember thinking it would be a lot of fun - but I was (and still am) too timid to check it out myself.

That seems like a pathetically impossible scheme considering the Toronto food scene. Man there's great food there. I really miss Yummi's really awesome chicken shawarma

Hey, is the Vesta Lunch still around? On Bathurst just north of Dupont, I think? It had a sign I loved:

I love this idea so much. I am definitely going to try and go some Friday. It's such a crazy idea, and yet so admirable.

MeFi's Jacquilynne used to participate in this, I think. If I remember correctly, she kind of gave up on them because you can wind up eating in greasy spoons week after week. She joined some other group that is more discriminating.
