The day is coming when the fuckwits who inhabit various boards of directors and make these ludicrous decisions about salaries and golden handshakes for CEOs will be called to account. When that day comes, I want to watch them put up against the wall and shot. As a long-standing board member of a community-based entity, I shudder at the appalling level of corporate governance displayed by these idiots sometimes.

The way I read these articles is this: the guy was so terrible they were happy to pay $210 million to get rid of him. And when they did, their stock price went up.

So, all in all, a pretty damning indictment of that CEO.

Unfortunately though, CEOs tend to be as dumb as a sack of rocks so he'll be shrugging and moving on to the next fuck-up.

This is what I don't get. After the first $200+ million you couldn't pry me off my own private tropical beach with a cattle prod. Yet these guys keep working.

golden handshakes

I read this and instantly thought 'new sexual fetish.'

I've been on the internet too long.

The CEO who took over our company, then ran it into the ground, walked away with $44 million. Amazing. And the company can't "afford" to lower prices because we'll lose our profit margin. For what? So we can't afford to give our CEO's outrageous paychecks?
