Safest airport EV4R. Baby is sent through X-ray machine at LAX
I'm always scared they're going to put my dog through by mistake. Apparently, this fear is not as crazy as I thought.

"We're trying to figure out what changes we can make, short of putting up signs saying, 'Don't put your baby through the X-ray machine,' " Melendez said. "We're trying to determine how we can make this not happen again."

oh, and "they"? Who, from the article I gather the grandmother did this herself- Crazy lady, who probably just didn't know about the radiation.

From the article: "Officials, who declined to release the 56-year-old woman's name, said she spoke Spanish and apparently did not understand English." Don't think that's going to solve the problem.

There is no way to solve this - you simply cannot make things idiot-proof enough for some people.

How about a graphical sign? Something that indicates 'Weapons, Explosives, and Lighters here' and a big circle with a line through it over pictures of film and babies.
