Never fly through Denver in winter, if you can help it. . .this has happened to me and a lot of people I know.

I once spent the night in Detroit airport through a bad combination of standby travel and poor weather.

I was uncomfortable.

Update: Bad storm blowing thru, and he won't get here till FRIDAY.

He lives/goes to school in Colorado Springs, so winter flights are unavoidable. If his last exam had been ONE DAY EARLIER he'd be here already. Arg.

On the bright side he gets to hang out at his sponsor family's house, get fed well, relax, and sleep. I get to finish my cleaning and advance cooking. He has to do his Christmas shopping on Saturday-when he gets here-so I will save some of mine for then...(makes note to stay very, very current on meds.)

Meanwhile, I have to have Christmas dinner at my house because my parents are still not speaking to my pregnant daughter and her African American husband, I still have to see MY parents the night before as my son will be here plus I am trying not to burn any bridges (I have seen some progress and think once the baby gets here things will be better)and my husband and I are getting over colds. Did I mention he is grouchy when sick?

New Year's Day cannot get here quick enough.

Bunnyfire, your daughter's exact situation is also in my family, and once the baby came, things were much better.
