The Fountain Has anyone other than dobbs and myself seen this yet?
It's just gorgeous, and so incredibly passionate. I love how it's not afraid of being silly or of sometimes not making a heck of a lot of sense. I'll forgive its slip-ups because it's so enrapturing. Best film of the year in my book, and that score is the best movie score in ages.

I er... saw it but not exactly as intended.

Ah, black bile, exactly! It's been some time since something wrecked me - in the best ways possible - the way this film did. It truly lingers. 'Course it helps that I'm listening to the score right now. So wonderfully evocative.

I saw it at TIFF and didn't care for it.

Background: I saw Pi when it was in theaters and hated it. Hated it so much that I never even saw Requiem for a Dream. But I heard so many good things about Requiem for a Dream, that I said to myself, well, maybe I shouldn't judge Darren Aronofsky just on a single film of his. I'll give The Fountain a chance.

Turns out I should have judged Aronofsky just on a single film of his. Seriously, though, I didn't hate it, I just didn't care for it. I rated it a 5 on IMDB, I think.

It does have a good score--I'll give it that. (But not "the best movie score in ages," unless "in ages" means since 2002.)
