I smooshed my finger! Ow, ow, ow! [More:]I was scooting my chair under the table at the local Thai joint down the street, when the seat cushion separated from the chair and smooshed my finger in between. There was broken fingernail, blood, under-nail bruise, and the lovely employees brought me bandaids and a bag of ice - and then didn't charge me for my dinner and a bottle of Singha. [Sorry, you're not getting pictures.]
Ouchies! Sorry that happened to you!

I was in my kitchen this afternoon unplugging something from the power strip under the cabinets, and my hand slipped and my knuckles skittered across the wall tile -- granite, uneven -- and cut up two of them.

Ice cream and oreos helps here too.

Oww! Smashed fingertips are SO painful. I could tell you a story involving a steel door at a newspaper printing plant when I was 16 years old, but I won't, because that's how much I want you to feel better.

I also second the ice cream and Oreos idea as a remedy for pretty much anything that sucks.

tsk! tsk! what a waste of a perfect manicure.

Or maybe you can get creative now with like dragons and such on the rest of the (healthy) fingers...

I have a similar one from when I was 27, involving a safe door. The bleeding under the nail was so thick that for 3 weeks people kept asking why I was wearing nailpolish and why only one finger.

But finger (and toe) wounds are a bitch. Feel better.

Ouch! I'm so sorry that happened! What's weird is that you'll now hit that finger on every occasion possible. Funny how you never know how much you use one until you damage one. On the other hand, the restaurant people were very nice!
