billions and billions of spams I recently (like 4 days ago) started getting 5-10 spam messages in my gmail inbox each day. [More:]This used to be 1 every other month, so I am pissed. It's coming to 3 different addresses that are directed to the Gmail account, so I don't think it was 1 account that was compromised.
Is this happening to anyone else?
5-10 a day? Wanna swap? For the last couple of months, I've been getting about 40 or 50 a day between my main email account an my Gmail one.

Yeah both my gmail accounts recently (within the past 5-6 months) started accumulating much, much more spam than they ever had. However, I'm noticing lately that gmail is getting smarter about these new spams and much fewer are actually making it to my inbox.

I average about 40 a day in my gmail, but they get caught 99% of the time.

Just to clarify: I always get betwenn 20-30 spams a day, but usually they didn't make it past the gmail spam thingie. Now, a revoltingly large number of them do.

Spammers seem to have recently rolled out some new models, which spam-blockers haven't quite figured out the algorithms for yet. Give it some time.

And really? Five to 10 spams a day is nothing compared to what I get.

Whatever, I had 1300 spam e-mails in my work inbox this morning, after a weekend of not checking my mailbox.

So no complaints from the rest of you!

(and yes, I'm looking into changing our service provider)

About a month and a half ago this started happening on my server, wher I have many domains so the spam was just killing me. I began greylisting all mails and that helped A LOT. Spam was sent to hundreds of non-exitisting accounts and bastard versions of mailinglist names (i run quite a few) so I don't think any given email was 'compromised' - it's just a huge influx in spam recently.
