Sometimes I love Christmas shopping. →[More:]Like tonight. I went to Costco to stock up on coffee, a few other bits and bobs, and I wandered round the Christmas section, not really looking for anything in particular, just marvelling, really, at all the crap on sale and playing with the kids' toys. They had this absolutely wonderful woodland habitat toy, a 3ft plush tree, with 'knotholes' in it, and in each tree was a puppet of a so-called woodland creature - a skunk, a squirrel, a raccoon and a beaver. Me and another woman put on two puppets each (I was the beaver and the skunk) and played a game whilst more sensible shoppers looked at us with expressions of sadness and pity on their miserable faces.
Anyway, I digress.
I've been agonising over what I can take to the US for George's mum and sisters for Christmas. It has to be small enough to pack, unbreakable and something they can keep.
In amongst the piles of Chrismas tat I saw
just the right thing - a box of
silver-plated, bejewelled,
snowflake-shaped, hanging photo-frame Christmas tree ornaments. I'm going to print up some pictures of George to go in the frames, and they can hang them on their Christmas trees. George's birthday was Christmas Day.
Oooh, I am
so delighted!
