Is MeCha Broken? So I was looking at my own post history and I discovered something kinda heinous.→[More:] Usually, I get emails when people comment to the threads I create. But 22 people replied to my "Long Weekend in 5 Points" thread and Gmail doesn't show any record of those emailed comments! Did that feature go offline? How will I know that people are feeding my ego by responding to the threads I start?

I've noticed the same thing. Check your profile - there's a checkbox labelled 'Check this to receive notification whenever one of your posts receives comments, trackbacks, etc.' I don't think it used to be there.

Ah-hah. Well that answers that question. I too had noticed that the emails had stopped, and figured that feature had been disabled. But it looks like it was turned into a profile option that defaults to off.

Mine is on and as of yesterday, I've stopped receiving the emails. Although after the marathon 659 comment thread I had awhile back, I'm not so sure I mind.

According to the logs, the emails are getting sent out.

If you're not receiving them, check the tickbox in your profile and failing that make sure they aren't being pulled into your spam or junk folder.

TrishaLynn: I also sent you an email. Can you double check to see if you got it.

Also - I unticked everyones "Send me emails when I get a comment" some time ago." So many users had the button ticked & an invalid email address and I was tired of getting bounce-backs. If you want it to be ticked and you think it is, now might be a good time to double check. (And update your email address of course)
