ZOMG FAWESOME (coffee coffee coffee zingity zing) So, yeah, Vietnamese coffee is my new favorite.→[More:]We had a bidness lunch at the linked place (Tamarine), and they do Vietnamese -style coffee.

Think hyper-espresso with sweetened condensed milk on the bottom.

It tasted like a cross between melted chocolate and really amazing coffee, and was so rich and strong that anything more than a tiny sip was overpowered.

But, damn.

Oooooooooooh. That's one of the biggest things I miss about Boston Chinatown. Or, really, about working near Chinatown. Walking distance to Vietnamese coffe is a good, good thing.

Yeah, we were all postulating that scrump was going to push his car to his eye appointment following consumption of said coffee, which was as delicious as described. The rest of us had to head back here and pretend to work.

Problem is, I'm hooked now. It's been 24 hours and I'm trying to cope with an institutional-size jones.

Rainy cold nasty days in Boston equaled huge bowl of chicken pho with lots of hot sauce, followed by Vietnamese coffee, all in a little storefront restaurant that played awful Asian cheesy pop songs and was heated enough that all the windows fogged up.

It was heaven. I used to pray for nasty weather just so I felt justified in going there.
