does anyone here have an MLA handbook? [More:]i'm about 98% finished with a literary research paper, and i'm stuck on a nagging semantics hurdle.

when mentioning the names of novels, collections or publications, MLA specifies that they be either italicized or underlined. what about short stories? my instincts tell me that short story titles should be quotated, but i'm straddling the fence between a "b" and an "a" and i'm reeeeeeally afraid of the dreaded red marker...
I think you're safe with quotation marks, judging by the results of this googling. Here's hoping you get that A.

I just checked my MLA Guide, 4th edition, and it says that short stories should be quotated (as well as songs and unpublished works such as lectures and speeches!)
