I got noise-cancelling earphones→[More:]
And they are so good I can understand every word in the overlapped tracks in Nada Surf's Popular.
If you're honest and direct and avoid making a flowery, emotional speech when you break the news, your old earphones will respect you for your frankness and honestly, they'll appreciate the kind, straight-forward manner in which you told them your decision. Unless they are jerks or crybabies, you'll remain friends.
hehe. I can even understand the mumbling girls at the beginning. And when I listen to Weezer's Undone, I can hear the indifferent responses of that dude too.
I really want the new Shure ones - they have a well handy thing called Push-To-Hear Control, which dips the volume of your music and switches on a wee microphone so you can hear the outside world - no more taking one headphone out when you pop into a shop. Shame they're $499, really!
I don't think you want noise-cancelers if you're running, get some hookbehinds for stability and don't crank the volume so loud that you can't hear cars or passerby.
