14 November 2006

WARNING: I am now in Seattle. Please take evasive action to safeguard your virtue! I just got back from the Lee "Scratch" Perry show. Many offerings of peace were made and shared. Awesome. The Space Needle is rather small, isn't it? However, your city has many fine beers and coffees. [More:]This week as a mutual birthday gift I'm jamming electronic/noise/whatever with a friend I've known since I was 11, and haven't seen in a few years.

I believe we are going to make a Toriton, but not a Toriton "plus" as we only have one laser and solar panel.

Aforementioned friend wishes to utilize the waterbowl belonging to his housecats. I don't know if I can just wait around for the cats to have a drink.
How was Perry? (The last few times I've seen him, he's alternated precisely between being a God-like genius and a total embarrasment.)

Scratch is still alive?!? wow. News to me.

You may not be aware of this, but a landmark doesn't have to be very long to give a woman pleasure. Many cities with very small landmarks have normal, successful relationships.

And crap, I missed Lee "Scratch" Perry? I'm burning this city to the ground.

No shit, Agro. Look at St. Louis and the Arch. Sure, it's large, but it's kinda bendy, and some chicks don't go for that. Or Mt. Rushmore - sure it's impressive, but I don't think the average gal is going in for four-on-one anytime soon.

I think I just squicked myself.

How long are you here? Want to call an impromptu meetup?

I have heard Perry is pretty much horrible these days as well (although I'd love to hear otherwise). I doubt you missed much agro, but I'm sure the city could still do with a little "cleansing".

That Toriton is really freakin' cool, btw.

I think it's goona stop raining for a day, enjoy yourself!

If there's a meetup, I'll try and make it!

I might be able to manage that. I'm going to be here until the 19th or so.

I'm being dragged to some sort of pub crawl thing involving a marching band or something happening this weekend if anyone is interested in what would probably be one of the rowdier meetups.

Scratch Perry was awesome. Granted, he's 70 and he's so deliciously THC addled that for all intents and purposes he probably does live in a floating space castle made of love and dub - but, yeah, the love and just gorgeously human silliness was there in quantity.

One of the opening bands "Dub is a Weapon" was awesome - really, really good mix of traditional, space and modern dub - and they went on to jam/back Perry.

It's cold. Come back in July.

Ahahaha. Well played, Feisty.

Update: I've walked the hills near where my friend lives, just east of downtown Seattle. I had some nice espresso.

I'm currently listening to my music on a pair of Mackie HR824 high resolution studio reference monitors.

Oh. My. Fucking. God. I want to have sex with these speakers. Going home to my crappy little $80 2.1 computer speakers is going to suck sooooo fucking much.

Is yer music available anywheres?
posted by Hellbient 14 November | 18:20
I have two tracks on Metafilter Music, and I have a DJ mix here.

Though I listened to the HAARP Fan one on said speakers of sheer and utter godliness, by "my music" I meant all of the music on my computer, which was dragged here on an undoubtably harrowing ride in the baggage compartment of a bus.

Geez man, it sounds like yer in my neighborhood! I'm in the Madison Valley, between downtown and Lake Washington.
Have you been to the Twilight Exit. It's a lovely dive...
