Wow, what a dick. Its his league and since his son didn't play he fired them. He seems like a guy who is desperately in need of a good hard kick in the nuts, maybe four or five.

That is disgusting. I feel sorry for his kid. And of course all the other kids, and the coach etc. But damn, at least they have the knowledge that they don't have an asshole for a father.

It's not even like the kid didn't play -- he just didn't play defense, for one game. a game that got them to the playoffs! Just disgusting.

It sucks for all the kids involved but I really feal for the son.

The ultimate "take my ball and bat and go home if you don't do what I want" guy. I see serious payback brewing. Serious, intergenerational payback. The kind that makes you specify cremation in a will you hire a Philadelphia lawyer to draft and hold, and tell your Swiss doctors about, on your deathbed, so even your ashes don't get sent back home. 'Cause the son of that prick is bound to fuck up ol' overcontrolling Dad, come time. You know it.

I'm simply speechless. Just reading about that man makes me want to take a shower.

I feel so sorry for his son.

Brilliant, so now not only is the team not playing, his son isn't playing. Kind of ruins the "this entire league exists so he can play defense on the best team in his weight class. . . . He is my son, I own the league, and he plays every snap on defense" line, doesn't it? Way to show how much you love your son, by humiliating him on an international scale.

What an utter, utter tool.

The commissioner offered to hire a new coach, but the boys would play only for Owens.

Good for them. At least they stood behind him.

This is one of the best and worst stories I've read this year. The kids had such class in refusing to accept a replacement coach - the evil guy is so evil that it simply beggars belief.

I wish that something like this could never happen.

Heartbreaking.

That commissioner is obviously on his way to the White House. Poor nation.

What is he, like eight years old? Jesus. I feel so bad for those kids.

Awful. Poor kids, all of them.
