Divas Gone Wild At the Country Music Awards, Carrie Underwood wins... and Faith Hill has a tantrum on live TV.
Well, oftentimes, the 'down-to-earth' thing is a carefully crafted image masking Whitney-level diva-dom. Gretchen Wilson should've won anyway, at least "Redneck Woman," has a sense of humor and is actual country. (I liked 'This Kiss' too, but mainly because Danni Ashe used it as backround music for a girl-girl video)
It's hard to tell if it was a joke or not. Funny either way though.
It must be tough to lose to a young'un who got her big break on a reality tv show, though. And doesn't it look like Carrie Underwood is getting ready to join the ranks of the celebrity skeletors?
Apparently, you can see her say, "I better fucking win" before the tantrum (people who watched in HD probably saw that). I always liked Faith Hill- FAITH DON'T LET ME DOWN!
Also, is it just me or are there too fucking many awards shows these days. Eventually, there'll be an Award Show Awards, probably hosted by Carson Daly.
I dunno TPS. My departed uncle worked for years as a trucker, mainly hauling equipment for major road shows. To hear him tell it, she was notorious amognst the roadies for being a 'witch with a b' (as he would modify it for us youngesters) during her time opening for Tim McGraw. Truckers didn't want to touch her with a ten foot pole apparently and she was the only celeb-type person I ever heard him speak badly of.
*sigh* I have GOT to stop clicking on youtube links when I'm sitting at the computer that has no sound card. Really, this business of having no desk and computer of one's own is beginning to get on my nerves.
The first time I saw Faith Hill, she was on some entertainment show talking about her new cover of Janis Joplin's "Piece of My Heart"...and she proudly told the interviewer that she'd never heard the original. I found that astonishing, and her demeanor a little arrogant.
So, many years later, this doesn't surprise me. It entertains me though. Lots. I love how she almost leans into the camera!
Yea, it's tough to know. I guess now she knows to leave jokes to comedians (because if Jim Carrey did that at an awards show, we'd know he was kidding/fooling around; with someone who doesn't make a living being funny, ya never know).
I guess she was riffing on the Kayne West thing. She did have a very playful look on her face while they were reading the names - the way she kept glancing around innocently with a half smile on her face. So I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt.
Not that I really give a shit about her either way!
