My New House! I started the interior remodel today (pulling up carpet and refinishing the hard wood floors!!!) and should be moved in by the end of the month. Me is happybunnyiest.
Your house has a nice face. It has character, and I like it. Best wishes on your new home!

There goes the neighborhood!

Much luck and love in your new house. Such coolness. I love the windows - they have a storybookish quality to them. So is there a room for jello rasslin', or what?

Refinishing hardwood floors is one of the single best things you can do that gives you the biggest bang for your buck. It's a royal pain in the arse but the end results are so worth it...

good job WolfDaddy! I've started on some remodeling at my house. I've been here a few years, and haven't done much since moving in since I wasn't sure if I was going to stay here or not. Now that I'm pretty much going to be here for awhile it's time to get to work. I'm having a tree removed and a bunch of crap hauled away tomorrow. November is rip drywall out month. Nothing like living in a money pit!

Oh you are such a tease! I want more pictures! (As someone who is in a perpetual state of remodeling, I'm fascinated by other people's projects.)

Definitely take more pics. I lost a whole roll of film from the first two weeks I owned my house, when I did the bulk of the gutting and refinishing and am so sad that I can't look at ugly photos to see how far I've come...

Thanks, everyone! I'm very excited. I'm taking a bunch of "before" pictures tomorrow, then we'll go on to the "in progress" shots ... and then the "after" shots!

The house on the inside is kinda torn up (it's been a rental property for some time), plus a lot of things I don't like. Wood paneling for me is bleh. I'm going to paint everything so there's a lot more light reflected in the kitchen and dining room areas. I'm having the linoleum floors in those areas covered with tile (I love tile!) and then the hardwood floors in all the other rooms.

It's also got a pretty big back yard, though I'm taking out the sunken fountain ... it's pretty, but here in Houston it's also just a big mosquito breeding ground. Yuk.

iconomy, perhaps I'll put a jello pit in its place???
