I'm roasting some poblanos right now. And damn do they smell good.→[More:] Partially inspired by the delicious soup threads, I decided to make New Mexican green chile. Of course Fred Meyer doesn't have Hatch chiles, so I'm using poblanos instead. Damn it smells good. I think I'll make some cornbread, too.

Not that y'all care, but still...

Oh I care.

I made the pumpkin brownie muffins that brainwidth posted the other day. My kitchen smells amazing. Everyone's raved over them.

Word to the wise, though-- if I've got bacon drippings on hand, it's not going to be vegetarian

Everything's better with bacon drippings, after all.

Except martinis. I'm so glad I left New York before that became a "thing."

dersins, do you have a car? Because there's all sorts of Meximarts in the burbs if you're willing to do a little driving. Every few weeks I do a world tour of Beaverton and hit as many nationalities' groceries as I can.

I do. And I know. I also probably could have found decent new mexican green chiles at new seasons, but i was already at fred meyer when I decided to make this, and I didn't feel like going anywhere else.

Also, I forgot to get cilantro...
