These sound seriously, intensely delicious. I wonder what subbing spice cake mix for the chocolate would taste like? Or carrot cake mix, even.

What's in devil's food cake mix? I would love to try these, but I much prefer working from scratch. Hmm.

A few devil's food cake recipes: [1] [2] [3]. I think if making from scratch, you basically substitute the pumpkin for all the wet ingredients. You could use a standard chocolate cake or brownie recipe, instead, I'm sure.

Brainwidth, this sounded fabulous last night and it still does! I'm sitting behind a desk all day today, and my mouth is watering. I'm going to definitely try it this week sometime.

I just made these - thanks so much for the recipe, brainwidth. Everyone loves them. So freaking easy, too. I don't know exactly what 'solid pack' pumpkin is, and when I went shopping there were several different kinds, but I bought the Libby's pie filling, so it had cinnamon and nutmeg and all that other stuff in it. I also bought extra moist devil's food cake mix.
