Aren't we going to discuss the Project Runway finale? (Don't click if you don't want to know who won.)
I have to say, I thought Jeffrey's collection really was the best. Michael's looked like the clearance rack at the Deb Shop. Laura's would have been nicer without all the damn feathers. And Uli? I seriously do not get the Uli love. It totally looked like the Mrs. Roper collection to me.
I thought that Jeffrey's was by far the best collection. Laura's was pretty in a very Laura way but Jeffrey had way more range. I loved the first and last dresses on the runway.
I thought the right man won. I was a little surprized when they voted Tim Gunn off the Island, though. Didn't see that one coming. But then, who knew Uli was a Cylon, either?
They only did one elimination, at the end. Just like normal, except they sent three people off.
I agree that Jeffrey's collection was the strongest, though I also really liked Uli's. I thought Laura's could have been great except for a few of the missteps -- that gown with the feather cap sleeves looked like it belonged on a dowdy 40-year-old, for example, and didn't seem to fit in with the other pieces. But I so loved the pantsuit!
Pinks--the investigation showed that Jeffrey was overbudget, so he had to get rid of his wigs. He also didn't have a receipt for the pleating he had done on a pair of shorts, so he had to take them out. Obviously, it hurt him none.
I did really like Laura's grey dress with the yellow belt. I'm a sucker for the yellow/grey color combo. It reminds me of seagulls.

I thought Jeffrey deserved to win, but you know what - he's a professional designer. He makes clothes for rock stars. No doubt this will put him in a better position, but from my point of view, he seemed like he was doing fine without Project Runway.
I don't really know where PR draws the line on this.
I hate the way they edit this thing -- They sit there and tell us that Uli's collection is wonderful, that women everywhere will want to buy it, and that Jeffrey's collection had some pieces that didn't fit in with the rest, plus he went over budget, and who wins? Jeffrey. It might make sense if we could hear everything the judges said in deliberating, but as it was shown it was annoying as hell.
Although I wanted Laura to be my Mommie throughout the season, I have to say that Jeffrey and Uli's collections were to my eye on a different, better level, than Michael's and Laura's. It could have gone either way, I would have picked Uli, but I do understand Jeffrey's win.
I hated all the collections in the spoiler post a while ago, but I liked them a lot on the runway. I think, if I were judging, Uli would have won, but I respect their choice. Uli!
