Speaking of snakes on a plane... Many of you know my son goes to the Air Force Academy. Well, he called me today. Seems that yesterday (yes, yesterday of all days) there was a snake-that's what I said, a snake-slithering down his squadron (dorm area) hallway.

Of course he stepped on it. RIP serpent.

I told him he should have left it alone, since in the past week they have already killed five mice in the area.

(He doesn't think it was a prank, as apparently his floor is snake accessible from the outdoors.)
Well I'm glad to hear that his floor is snake accessible. I'm picturing little tiny ramps leading up to all the doors.

Was it a poisonous snake, or just a Garder? If it was the latter, he should've just picked it up and taken it outside. They're completely harmless.

this is the military, me3dia, they're trained to kill, not in compassion.

Actually he is quite compassionate but he comes from a long line of snakekillers. I can never persuade my dad (who lives in the country) that he doesn't have to kill every single snake he sees.

My kid is a glider instructor. Shoulda taken snakey for a widdle ride, hey?

That kinda sucks. I like animals that kill vermin.

He should've sent the snake to me. I have a mouse who got into my pantry, broke open a package of Instant Oatmeal that I had forgotten I had, got wired from the sugar and then pooped all over the place from the oat bran.

Heels crushing heads, down through the millennia.

My mom can't even look at a picture of a snake. (I don't have the heart to point out the Freudian connection.)

I'm rather fond of snakes myself. I loved the House of Reptiles at the Cincinnati zoo. 26' albino anaconda. Beautiful.

I'm not afraid of them, myself. If it's nonpoisonous I have no problem picking it up.

I'm seriously considering leaving home. || OMG MONKEY
