Things just get weirder. I just saw a butterfly with two totally different wing colors (Swallowtail, yellow and black). Perfectly natural or a mystical portent?
I think we should have a "Signs and Portents" Photo Friday.

Reminds me of a gynandromorph, which is apparently pretty common in butterflies (not that this is one, I don't think?). I've studied gynandromorph finches, which are pretty fucking cool.

Freaky indeedy. I'd like to see blue lightening bugs. Maybe weretable's stripey caterpillars were involved in the duotone butterfly.
