Dammit, I can never make up my mind about Elton. First there are those '70s albums, which, while not really my cup of tea, are nonetheless really good. But he also did a bunch of songs that are little more then mawkish, treacly crap. Then there's the what-looks-to-me-like claiming to be bisexual while actually being gay. And the refusing to age gracefully. And the Disney soundtracks, and the Tim Rice collaborations, and the freaking Diana song (and, not for the first time, what-looks-to-me-like taking credit for Bernie Taupin's work). But he appeared on The Simpsons, and did that Grammy performance with Eminem. And now this thing, which I don't really have strong feelings about one way or the other. (Wow, I know a lot more about Elton John than I thought.)
