Easy Science fiction Costume Help. Say you only had half of saturday to create a great sci-fi costume for a fancy dress party. Oh, and you were also allowed Comic Book Hero's. What would you do, and how would you do it? I've got a Backup Plan, but would like to hear what the bunnies have to say. (Bonus points for short chunky hirsute bespectacled men costumes)
Wait, are you saying that you want to be a comic book hero, or that you have to be?

Cause you could always wrap yourself in foil and go as a baked potato (*my dad used to tell us this every year at Halloween).

There are some crazy amazing costumes here, but they tend to take some serious dedication (although some are simpler than others).

My old fall-back costume was to dress extremely nerdy plus an eye patch, plastic sword (or better yet, platic hook-hand) and a stuffed penguin on my shoulder (not parrot) to be - ta daa! - a Computer Pirate.

I think you only have one option here:

Stolen from MST3K: Cut an oil filter in half, stick it over your eyes, and presto! Geordie Laforge! Bonus: adopt a thick Northern accent and be the Geordie Geordie.

Of course, the choice can only be: Arthur

Well, there's always Ford Prefect. A satchel, a towel, something that could be an electronic thumb (er...) and something that could be an electronic book with 'Don't Panic' on the front, and you're set. I used to go as an intergalactic hitchhiker a lot in my teens, which is even more flexible--as long as you have the above items, the rest is pretty much up to you. (I loved doing theatre makeup, so it was much fun.)

OTOH, I really like your fallback plan, too.

I did Arthur Dent one year, and a friend was Ford Prefect. I had a copy of the Hitchhiker's Guide comic book, with a big bright "DON'T PANIC" on it. Since I went to a nerd school, everyone knew who I was and loved it. "I seem to be having this tremendous problem with my life-style."

Second. Best. Costume. Evar.

There's not alot of sci fi/comic characters with beards.

Beardy Riker? Need trekkie pyjamas.

Rorschach from the Watchmen? Need trilby, trenchcoat and white cravate/scarfe. And the rorschach hood. Maybe an inkblot stuck to a cheap plastic mask?

Alex Robinson (not a sci fi character, but does appear in his own comics occasionally). Need, some clothes.

I think pictures are a fine idea.

What I meant was Scarfe could do the rorschach blotches for you. Yeah, that's what I meant.

that absorbaloff thing? (paste masks all over your chest and paint yourself green) : >

the big floating guy from Dune?

Jabba?

or an alter ego--with glasses--Peter Parker, Clark Kent, etc...

oh--how about that 2-headed guy from Hitchhiker?

or V--that's really easy if you can get that mask and a cloak. (other people will definitely do it tho)

Rorschach from the Watchmen?

I've been working on a design for a rorshach hood for awhile. Only problem I'm having is making it see through from the inside.
