Also, rainbaby, dano, and I call dibs on the TV on Sunday at 8pm for the first NFL preseason game! Or at least through the first quarter, after which they put the scrubs in.

As is probably evident, I have to lame out of this one. It makes me terribly sad.

My heart's in it all the way, but logistics are going to prevent it. Money's short, I just did a big trip 2 weeks ago and have another trip in 2 weeks, and as it turns out the USCG Eagle is going to be in port here and I'm supposed to coordinate a visit from the cadets over the weekend.

I really want to meet and hang with all of you, and I've always wanted to visit Asheville, so know I'll be with you in spirit. I so wish I could work it out, but it would really be difficult to pull off.

But please -- let's have more national meetups! (I want to go to Nashville next year. Anyone near there?)

I'd like to suggest next Spring in Chicago for an upcoming national meetup.

If we want to do any winter meetups, they should be somewhere warm.

Looks like I'll be there for the second half of Saturday only. As long as there is beer I don't care. Although I know not where I'm sleeping, or if I'll just toodle back to the flatlands after dark. Mrs chewie can't make it - we have a cat teetering on the edge (still) and don't want to leave her alone in this heat.
