Adventures in medicine. Those of you who have been following the Jon & Pips show are probably aware that she's been suffering some really bad abdominal pains over the last week or so.→[More:]

Yesterday, she seemed to be feeling better and decided to meet me at one of our watering holes for a drink, but by the time she arrived she wasn't feeling so well and I decided enough was enough and we went uptown to the same hospital where I had my surgery. 15 hours of poking, prodding and sheer bliss later, we learn that she has fibroids, ovarian cysts and gallstones. She's scheduling follow ups this coming week. It's raining buckets here in Astoria and I seem to be the only bunny in the 'hood with power (*knocks wood*) and pips is resting on the couch. She still has pain, but knowing where it came from makes it easier.

I'm sorry to hear that, guys. But now that you know what it is, I'm sure you're less anxious. It's a tripple-whammy, I know, but thank god it's nothing super scary.

My wife has gone through that, minus the gallstones. No fun. She had the ovarian cyst problem for years on and off, and since we were done having kids, they finally did a hysterectomy and she's doing much better with that. She was eventually diagnosed with fibromyalgia too, and once they started treating that she improved a lot too.

I hope pips is feeling better soon and they can come up with effective treatments for her.

ACK. not a fun evening but a damn good thing for the poking and prodding. Here's to successful treatment, whatever form it may be and wishing the ouches evaporate soon.

Thanks everyone... y'all always cheer me up...

It's been a rough couple of days, but jon's been a prince, up all night with me at the hospital, and it is good to know the cause of all that pain. Things could definitely be worse. I'll follow up next week with the referrals the ER doctor gave me and see what happens.

Oh, pips I'm so sorry, and I'm sorry this is late in getting to you! That's too many painful things to have all at once! (I did have my gall bladder go bad suddenly nearly three years ago, and they took it out. It wasn't so bad, and only four tiny incisions that have faded) I remember the pain, though, and I feel for you! Feel better soon.
