Me: So my friend from work has a show opening on Friday night - want to go?
Her: Sure! I've never been to an art show opening! But I see them on Sex and the City all the time.
Me: Me neither. What should we wear?
Her: I don't know.
Me: Do you think just black?
Her: Yes! With a quirky accessory. A conversation piece.
Me: So it's settled then. Black with a quirky accessory.

Whatever you want. I go to them all the time, and really there's no dress code. Wear whatever you'd wear if you were going out for a drink.
