Is the Chicken Dead or alive?

Scio, OR -- I heard this on Oregon Public Broadcasting this morning, about Big Red, the town rooster, who was attacked by a dog. But news reports are conflicting.

The news report said that the folks in the town would celebrate Big Red's life with a potluck.

OHHH. . .the "alive" story is archived from January. here is some kid's LJ about it.

He's dead. Little doubt about it now. Dog finished the job, apparently.

After finishing breakfast, Big Red would return to the feed store, making several stops along the way for sliced grapes and popcorn.

I'm surprised they didn't peel his grapes for him.
