Didn't get many people pics, unfortunately, because I was too busy running around trying to see through the crowd and catch a glimpse of JFJ.

Funny story, though. The night before the concert, small_ruminant wasn't sure she'd be able to make it. She also didn't have a cell phone to call us, and we hadn't set a time/place to meet yet. I had sadly written off being able to meet up with her (a conviction that solidified after seeing the size of the crowd).

After working my way as close to the stage as I could, I started to make my way back through the throng to the Metachat camp. Fighting my way through the crowd, I looked up, and walking right towards me was small_ruminant. I recognized her hair and glasses from Flickr -- we'd never met before.

Small world, bunnies. Small world.

Animal and his caption just got added to my favorites. Any story to that, or he was just . . .there?

Thank god mudpuppie was on the ball. She looked familiar when I saw her, but not so much that I was comfortable asking her "are you mudpuppie?"

Come to think of it, I should have. If she hadn't been, probably no one would have thought past "well, she's fried one time too many."

Has Frisbee Girl just been insanely busy lately or what? I haven't seen her online much these days.

Those were absolutely gorgeous pictures, pup. First of all, the cute animal pics are so good they should be in the fair's annual fundraiser calendar. Second, JFJ looks incredible. Her example makes me feel I should head back to the gym. Third, I always like seeing you folks. Even though I've met almost none of you, when I look through a new Flickr set, I'm always excited to see you (Look! There's triode! Great hat, Triode! Look! There's tang! Nice necklace! Etc.) Like pup, I bet I'd recognize lots of you folks in a crowd of strangers. Fourth and finally, I have kind of a fair fetish, and some of the pictures are just...amazing. The flailing little girl silhouetted against the sky, the ride pics, the hands-over-ears girl, the fishing boy...oh, man. Some of these want to be an album cover so bad.

Rainbaby, Animal was sitting a few blankets away. He was one of the carnival prizes. Tangerine and I talked about that -- about how the characters of the carnival prizes have changed over the years. It was Loony Tunes characters (and Muppets) when I was a kid. Now it's SpongeBob and the Simpsons. I was thrilled to see that Animal was still among the in crowd.

Right on, Puppanoodles. Also, damn, that IS a good hat, Triode. *gets jealous*
