My Space Is Evil. You know this. We all know this. But ...[More:] more than anything, the look-and-feel just looks and feels like Hell on a biscuit. So is there a way to view MySpace pages without the accompanying in-line audio, in-line video, animated GIFs, tacky backgrounds, blinding font combinations and come-hither banner ads? I'd avoid the whole thing like plague, but I've a double-handful of friends and associates who are friends of Tom. So I guess I'm just looking for a lo-fi MySpace.
It's also populated by crazy people. Remember Bronx Thong Woman?

Myspace pages are only as gaudy as the users make them.

My space is evil too. I actually radiate evil in a 10' diameter.

Wait just a minute, agro. You have a space?

Can you install the Firefox web developer extension and just turn off everything for those sites?

This sounds like a job for Greasemonkey! That is, assuming you're a Firefox user. Check out the MySpace scripts collection, there's sure to be something that does what you want.

Assuming you're using Opera (who still uses Firefox? It's 2006.), right click on the profile->Edit Site Preferences->Turn all that shit off.

A lot of those things can be turned off in your Profile Settings.

Is there a way to disable it logging out out every time you look away? I wouldn't mind so much, but you go to click on a page, it asks you to log in, then takes you to your home. Umm, no. Take me where I was going!
