On The Radio/Regina Spektor (windows video) "This is how it works..."

beautiful, and odd in a great way : >
Beautiful and sweet. Or maybe my biorhythms intersected.

I thought it was going to be a Langley Schools project thing at first ...

Yeah, nice. Writing the vowels on the chalkboard reminded that in catholic school we were taught "A,E,I,O,Y, and sometimes Y and W."

But when I asked what word had W for a vowel, no one had an answer. I guess the real lesson was blind faith in dogma.

'How' is phonetically equivalent to 'hou.' And there are some words in Welsh that use 'w' as a vowel, for what that's worth.

i never heard W--maybe that's just a British Isles thing? "sometimes Y" was the end of that for us, but even in school they rarely/never included Y. I thought it was a shoutout to that IBN/OZN video/song, and the school thing.

She's so cuuuuute. Too much makeup on in the video, but I saw her live two or three years ago and she had the widest smile. You could tell she was loving every minute of her performance. I'm so glad she's becoming well-known, because, well, she just seemed so darn nice.

W and Y are referred to as semivowels, FWIW.

Adding the "W" was supposed to show that the Catholic school education was more complete than the public school education.
