30 June 2006

News from my hometown This happened about a mile from the house I grew up in.
this weather is too weird:
The funnel cloud was sighted at about 3 p.m. and left a path that was 3 miles long and 100 yards wide, said Steve McLaughlin, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.

What are we--the Midwest now?

God is punishing NY for its flaming homosexuality.

And it's about damn time.

Actually, Buffalo is more midwestern (culturally and geographically) than it is eastern seaboard.

It happened a couple miles from my office. A friend of mine was driving by as they hauled it away. The lights flickered a couple times during the storm, but stayed on.
I guess there was some massive hail, too.

But yeah, Cheektowaga (the suburb in question) gets quite a bit of tornados. It's odd. Every couple years they seem to have one or two.

Also, Doohickie, I'd say we're more Canadian culturally than midwestern, but maybe that's just me and my circle since we spend so much time over the border.

Having lived in both Albany and Detroit, I would say Buffalo is more like Detroit, for what it's worth. I grew up in the Union/Genesee area of Cheektowaga. Graduated from Maryvale.

It's Really Cute || PSA. Just because you think it's out does not mean it's out.
