That's a shame. While you definitely were a bad taco, I have seen much worse behaviour on MeFi not even raise an eyebrow. I hope it isn't a permanent ban, because that will be one less on the good side of the equation there and we are getting outnumbered faster and faster.

Yep, I'm not arguing the charges that I was a bad taco. Nearly as bad as a Vegan taco with extra cilantro. But not quite.

When I was notified, I was told it was permanent. I'm trusting that to be true, and am not going to lobby otherwise.

I don't think it's unfair, nor do I care if it was in line with prior thingies. It's his site, he can do as he pleases. :-)

And rumors of my sock puppetry have been greatly exaggerated.

ILT, if you do decide it's worth it to go back and get a new account, I suggest being a little more circumspect. Sign up under like, "Tacos Are Pretty OK or Whatever". Matt's pretty smart is all.

I'm sorry you got banned, but you took it like a mensch and as you said, that tombstone is the ace. I will certainly stand in your stead on the green if you like.

Ah well, more time for you to spend here then, ILT. That place gets more like slashdot every day. (And then occasionally has a flash of brilliance that makes it all worth while again). I doubt antics like ILT's are what annoy most folks (I mean, how hard is it for anyone who isn't looking for a fight to skip a post like that on the blue?), but it's the kind of thing that makes life difficult for Matt and is easy to police.

taz, you're right though for (I think) the wrong reasons.

It's not that I was worked up... it's that any time I open to the blue, I expect to see trolls posting things to deliberately create controversy and anger, for their own amusement. I think that's pretty pathetic, so I made fun of it, flagged my own post, and hoped they'd both get deleted.

Pyrrhic victory, baby!

I love the green, but the rest of it just isn't my cup of tea.
