Set Yourself on Fire starts off with a very imposing and dramatic spoken-word intro that sounds like something from a classic movie or scratchy old record of poetry or Shakespeare. When I first heard it, it reminded me of the recording of William S. Burroughs reading "Seven Souls" on the
season opener of
The Sopranos.
The funny thing, at least to me, is that it's a recording of
the dad of one of the people in band. I picture it happening like this:
"Dad, can you read this for me?"
"Sure, honey...
