152 pictures?!? Nothing like wretched excess, eh? Now, about those captions... May I suggest a slightly less discontinous narrative flow? It makes me dizzy over a dialup.
jonmc, you are a kid with a new toy. And I let myself get sucked in, and overcooked my linguini. What the hell kinda Italian makes a woman overcook her linguine?!?
Well, it's only just past al dente, and the Scot in me ganged up with the incredibly lazy person and made me serve it anyway. It's just for me, so no-one needs to know.
I really enjoyed this little wander through Jon and Pips' weekend. The laundromat was cool. In the UK most people have their own washing machines so the launderettes (as we call them here) are much smaller than yours. The one where I have to wash my big quilt (won't fit in my machine) has about 8 machines, all of which are ancient. The woman who works there is in her 70s, but is utterly beautiful. Next time I go there I'll take her picture. I really like her, she's interesting and funny too.
I hear mudpuppie's got some extra praying mantiseses. As I commented in her thread, they're supposed to be excellent at keeping the roach population down. They eat the eggs and everything, and after a while all you're left with is a very hungry praying mantis. Or so I've heard.
Of course, that only works if you don't mind a mantis or two on the loose in your place.
I do rather adore praying mantiseses... I used to see them sometimes in my parents' backyard.
The cereal in the fridge, though, is really just preventive measures. We're lucky, by NYC standards, to see only the ocassional roach (maybe two sightings a year -- those huge "water bug" ones that crawl out of the drains), and the ocassional mouse.
I appreciate the information, though... good for future reference. : )
