You know what I'm doing today? Nothing, that's what. And it's as good as I imagined it would be.
I, too, am toying with the idea of doing nothing today. However, the fact that I have to pay some bills is going to mar the sheer, perfect, mirrorlike nothingness of the day. And once you start doing something, then it's just as easy to do other things. So I don't know how it's going to work out.
I have to do something today. In fact, several somethings. However, I'm hungover. So I'm hoping all of those somethings decide to be hungover with me and just make failure sounds and cave in.
Nothing to it I guess. Except, try as I might, I ended up doing something though. In turn I'm all sweaty now but my lawn looks like something good happened to it. And that's nothing to laugh at.
LT, wanna come over for a caesar? It's the best hangover cure. The yard is lovely, and you'd be in good company. You can try to talk me out of quitting my job, and we can talk about buying a small place with a market garden somewhere in the middle of nowhere and telling the world to go fuck itself.
I've had a busy-doing-nothing day. I went to a lunchtime AA meeting, did a bit of shopping, came home, watched the second half of England v Jamaica while I ate a delicious home-made cheeseburger, did three lots of laundry, hung it out, brought it in, settled down on the bed with Bailey to read/doze, but was jolted to a rude awakening by a giant fly-ey thing (like a crane fly, but much fatter and scarier) and eventually managed to coax it out through the window (lucky for it, I couldn't find my Raid spray), swept up some garden debris outside, hung my new garden thermometer (with bunnies on it) up and am now trying to decide what to do with the evening.
Although I've done a lot, it seems like a lazy day. The weather is beautiful today.
Tomorrow - mow the front lawn. The guy next door pays someone to mow the grass, and he does mine at the same time for no charge (it's kind of the same lawn), but I haven't seen the 'lawnmower fairy' for a while, and the grass is too long, so it's probably my turn to do it.
Took the puppy to the vet (clean bill of health), bought laundry supplies, got my hair cut, had breaky at McD's, napped, sat outside with the puppy and now it's time for dinner. A really nice day over all.
I went and got a new blade for my bandsaw, mowed the lawn and made Tip a Straights Sling. Mowing the lawn took four hours. Now I'm building an electronics project and my bum knee is aching from mowing the lawn. I was getting calls asking if I was ill because my lawn was so tall. And yeah, it was a combination of not feeling well and rain on the days I felt OK. Ho hum.
Oh, we also finally got my tenant's rabbit hutch up off the ground and on some saw horses. Did I mention that we now have two bunnies on the property? Yup, bunnies. In the house.
