Saga Of Dumbco Cont'd →[More:] We were just told (at a meeting I missed because of malfunctioning inter-office e-mail) that our purgatory may be extended another month because the technology that will replace us may not be ready yet, and that if we don't stay on, we're quitting, not being laid off and blah-blah, which is contrary to what another manager told us. The muckety-mucks are hashing it out as we speak. *fumes*

I crack up when I read that - Dumbco.

I picture this burnt-out receptionist with slack hair and her head in her hands, chewing on a nail and answering each call with a profound sigh, "Good afternoon, Dumbco..."

I just passed the head muckety-muck's glass-walled office on the way to the Men's room. The muckety-mucks are sitting around his desk with grim looks on their faces. When I got to the men's room, one of the urinals was covered in duct tape. I don't know if these things are connected.
